The Shaanxi Provincial Archaeology Institute and Northwest University (Xi`an) are
developing the specific aspects that they would like Chaminade University to assist
with on the development of the comprehensive provincial GIS database of
archaeological and historical resources within Shaanxi Province.
The project began in formative form in 2006, with formal definition in 2007. Currently
we have demonstrated a provisional GIS model (developed within DeLorme's XGIS
5.0). Eventually the final GIS database system to be housed at the Shaanxi
Provincial Archaeology Institute.
